South West St. Ann Branch of the Agricultural Society, Rev. E. ARNETT, President, addressing Sydney Olivier, acting-Governor, who was visiting the area:
'1st - That on the decision of the Legislative Council to amalgamate the Jamaica High School and University College at Hope into a Jamaica College there should be a branch distinctly set apart for the purpose of providing a course of practical scientific instruction in Agriculture where young men who desire to devote themselves to that profession can receive the necessary training.'
